This year we have assembled an investment panel for a discussion of funding Alternative Investments in the Kansas City community. The panel currently includes Ron LeMay from OpenAir Capital Partners, Darcy Howe with the KCRise Fund, Carter Williams from iSelect Fund, Mike Peck from Flyover Capital, Keith Copaken from Copaken-Brooks and Dr. Nick Franano, a thought leader in the venture community has agreed to be the panel moderator.

We will have a continental breakfast in conjunction with the panel presentation.

We are currently in the process of selected our three early stage companies and one real estate project for presentations at the Forum event.


Ron LeMay
OpenAir Equity Partners, a Kansas City based venture capital firm led by Ron LeMay focused on high growth, early stage companies in technology, mobile, and communications.  
Darcy Howe
KC Rise Fund is a new venture co-investment fund led by Darcy Howe for individual investors as well as large KC area company investors seeking innovation in their own backyard.

Carter Williams
iSelect Fund is a St. Louis based venture fund led by Carter Williams interested in funding Kansas City early stage companies through the wealth advisor community.  
Mike Peck
Flyover Capital is a venture capital fund Mike Peck is a General Partner for the firm focused on creating the next generation of successful technology companies in the region. It seeks to participate in the rapid growth of early stage technology companies in sectors such as mobile, health-tech, digital media, enterprise software, e-commerce and agricultural technology.

Keith Copaken
Copaken-Brooks For nearly 100 years, the legacy of Copaken Brooks has shaped the Greater Kansas City landscape. The firm has developed the most significant “signature properties” in Kansas City and many other noteworthy properties across Missouri, Kansas and Illinois. Keith Copaken is a Principal of the firm. Today, the firm has nationwide reach, providing expert representation for tenants, developers, landlords, buyers and sellers, as well as corporate real estate services throughout the United States.  
Keith Harrington
Keith Harrington is a Founder of Upstart Partners an emerging Venture Fund. He is also a Kauffman Fellow - Venture Capital & Private Equity. He served as the Managing Director of the Kansas Bioscience Authority, is a board member of Health Outcomes Sciences, Inc. and other venture stage companies.

Joe Kessinger
  Mark Meyerdirk and Joe Kessinger have been involved in the investment arena separately for 40 and 35 years respectively. They are self-acknowledged “deal-junkies” and have enjoyed the good fortune of helping scores of companies move from concept to maturity.

Mark and Joe have created Alternative Investment Forum, LLC to present alternative investment opportunities to the growing network of private investors interested in seeing high quality companies. The June 2016 AIF Forum will be the fourth in a continuing series of forum events which have been attended by over 300 high net worth investors, family offices, private equity funds and investment bankers.
